Initial Consultation

During the initial pre-test consultation, we’ll hear about your concerns and ask questions to understand your student’s current situation. We often hear parents asking:

  • Does my child need tutoring?
  • Does my child have dyslexia or other learning disability?
  • Why can’t my child focus?
  • Why can’t my child follow directions?
  • Why does it take my child so long to do his/her homework?
  • Does my child have ADD or ADHD?

We understand it is stressful not knowing the underlying cause of a specific behavior or academic challenge. Our goal is to gather a clear understanding of the child’s weaknesses and struggles to better understand the child’s needs. At the end of the consultation, we’ll be able to recommend next steps and review pricing for our recommended services.

Pre-Test Consultation

  • Evaluate the student's situation through parent and teacher inputs to determine if there is a need for an educational intervention
  • Understand "how" and “to what degree of effectiveness" the student is cognitively processing new information presented by his or her teacher currently
  • Identify the potential learning disorder (i.e. reading disorder, behavior disorder, processing disorder, etc.)
  • Determine whether or not there is a need for diagnostic testing to assess the student’s academic strengths and weaknesses
